Language Tests
Read outOther than in a few exceptional cases, international students are required to pass a language exam before beginning their studies in Germany.
DSH (German language exam for international university applicants for entering higher education)
One option is the DSH exam (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang)
There are several possibilities to take this exam in Munich; for instance, it's offered by the following universities:
You can also get in touch with the your university's international office to enquire about examination dates.
TestDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache)
The second option is to take the exam “Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache” (TestDaF), which in many cases is even offered in your own country. The locations of all of the exam centres can be found on the TestDaF homepage. And here's some information in English.
Even if you're planning to take the TestDaF exam, it's worth getting in touch with the international office of the university you’d like to study at, since many universities offer courses and even whole semesters aimed specifically at preparing international applicants for their studies in Munich.
By the way
there are certain differences between the two exams DSH and TestDaF.
