Living in a German hall of residence
How a hall of residence is structured, can make a great difference: depending on whether you live in a single room in a shared flat, an apartment with a shared kitchen or a studio apartment, you will have more or less contact to your neighbours. In many halls of residence of the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern there are also resident tutors. The resident tutors are the first person to turn to if newly arrived students in the hall have any questions. They also plan, organise and carry out activities such as get-togethers for new residents, table tennis tournaments, Sunday breakfasts, bar evenings, various trips or cooking together... The tutors’ contact details as well as the planned activities can be found hung up in the various halls – simply go there and meet new people, your new housemates!
