Since the 19th century, all graduates of American universities are called alumni. Meanwhile, the term has established itself in Europe and, naturally, also at German universities.
Lifelong association
Alumni programmes promote the transfer of knowledge and exchanging experiences and make it possible to establish and maintain specialized networks. This takes place for the entire university one the one hand, as well as for particular areas of study – and is meant for a lifetime.
