Cultureclubbing goes DOK.fest München & Unter Deck
As part of cultureclubbing and in cooperation with the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern, DOK.fest München is going to be showing the documentary GERMANY REPRESENT: YOUNG, FEMALE, POLITICAL (director: Jannika Quaas, 2021, 59 min., German, with English subtitles) about Nyke, Audrey and Lilli. Three politicians who are making Germany more diverse.
Followed by a party in the Unter Deck – and, as always with cultureclubbing, free for students!
“How many obstacles do we, the society, put in the way of people who apparently are ‘different’” Nyke Slawik asks. After 26th September, she was all over the news: „Nyke Slawik – first trans woman in the German Bundestag“. But Nyke is more than just that headline. The film follows Nyke in the months of her candidacy until her successful election. Audrey Dilangu from the SPD (Social Democratic Party) from Dinslaken and Lilli Fischer from the CDU (Christian Democratic Union) from Erfurt are meanwhile fighting their own battles in local German politics. The three women have one thing in common: despite hateful messages and racism, they defend their seemingly inexhaustible commitment.
