Semester Ticket
The MVV semester ticket is currently not available due to the discount ticket. Therefore no solidarity fee will be charged this semester and student IDs don't entitle you to use public transport in the MVV area. The IsarCard Semester is currently not being sold.
The discount ticket is a reduced Deutschland-Ticket for 29 euros available for students and trainees in Bavaria, which can be purchased until the end of 2024 (subscribe via the MVG). From January 2025 onwards, the Bavarian discount ticket will cost 38 euros a month. Subscriptions will automatically continue with the new price. Cancelling your subscription is possible until 10th December 2024 and after that every month as was the case before.
Studierendenwerk Functions
The Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern is responsible for supporting students studying at the universities we’re in charge of in financial, social, cultural and health matters. Furthermore, it contributes to promoting international relationships.
Every German Studierendenwerk offers their support to a network consisting of several universities and campuses. According to Bavarian Studierendenwerk regulations, the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern is responsible for a total of 16 universities with 140,000 students studying in Munich and Upper Bavaria.
